Hyderabad: Minister for Scheduled Castes Development G.Jagadish Reddy said that government will issue directions to the officials to pay Rs. 51000 as financial assistant to poor brides, under ‘Kalyana Lakshmi’/ ‘Shaadi Mubarak’ schemes, on the day of marriage itself. Responding to a question raised during question hour in the assembly, the minister admitted delay and impediments during implementation of both the schemes and said probe was conducted into some irregularities in the scheme which resulted in delay in implementation. He assured to settle all the pending applications within one month and said all the eligible persons who have applied under the scheme will receive the benefits.
Mr. Jagdish Reddy informed that all the minorities, who are financially weak, are eligible for financial assistance under Shaadi Mubarak Scheme. He said financial assistance will be provided for all the marriages, if a family performed more than one marriage. However he refused to provide assistance to couples performing inter-state marriages.
