Muslim brethren have celebrated “Shabbe Barath’ peacefully in the Old City on Tuesday night. As per tradition, the Muslims celebrate “Shabbe Barath” 14 days before the Ramzan.
In the Old City, Muslims organiZed special prayers with devotion and diligence at Charminar, Madina and at several places. The Muslims participated in special prayers in large numbers. Later, they visited burial grounds and organized ‘Duva’ there. On the occasion, City Police Commissioner Anjani Kumar visited sensitive areas in the Old City like Charminar, Madina, Mecca Masjid and several areas during the entire night to ensure peace and tranquility. The Commissioner entered the Mecca Masjid and interacted with the Muslims extending “Shabbe Barath” greetings. (NSS)
