Skin of banned animal found in Jaunpur; panic prevails among Muslims as Hindutva outfits attack houses

Shahgunj: Skin of a banned animal was found in Ashrafpur village of Jaunpur. After the complaint of former Pradhan a case has been registered against 6 persons, while 2 were arrested and sent to jail. The incident created tension in the area Muslims are forced to go to a safer place leaving the village.

According to sources, a skin of banned animal was found 4 kilometres away from the village on July 2. On finding the skin, members of Hindutva outfits reached the village and expressing suspicion over some Muslims of Quraysh community lodged complaint with the police led by former Pradhan of the village. A case has been registered against 6 persons and 2 have been arrested and sent to jail.

Members of Hindutva outfits are reaching the village scaring Muslims. Some of them attacked Muslim houses and vandalised them. This has created panic among the Muslims of the village and they are forced to flee from the village in panic.
