Informing that the expelled Congress MLAs lodged an on-line complaint with the Central Election Commission (CEC) alleging that the TRS government expelled them from the Legislative Assembly while the election code was on due to Rajya Sabha elections, Opposition Leader in Legislative Council Mohammed Ali Shabbir said that the government expelled them only to see that their right to vote is lost.
In an informal chat with the scribes at Gandhi Bhavan here on Wednesday along with TPCC treasurer G Narayana Reddy, Shabbir Ali said that the government intentionally expelled their members from the House. The Legislative Assembly would be handed over to the Speaker only after Business Advisory Committee (BAC) meeting, he said and opined that the Governor only has the right to initiate action against the members as he addressed the joint session on the day.
Alleging that the Speaker didn’t follow the rules and traditions of Assembly, Shabbir Ali said that the Speaker would have talked to floor leaders but he didn’t. The Speaker would have recommended the issue to the Ethics Committee but he didn’t, he said and claimed that the Speaker expelled the two members undemocratically from the House behaving against natural judicial rules. The government suspended remaining members only avoid the questions from the Congress members, he felt and said that they will settle the issue in public court.
Earlier addressing the 48-hour Prajaswamya Parirakshana Deeksha, Shabbir alleged that KCR was running police raj in the state. The government was making the police to arrest Congress activists in entire state, he said and claimed that KCR was behaving arrogantly. “The KCR government also sent police to my residence though I am opposition leader in the Legislative Council”, he lamented.
The TRS government was not even allowing the TJAC chairman Prof. M Kodandaram and MRPS founder president to lodge their protest, he said and demanded the state government to immediately release the Congress activists arrested by the police across the state. (NSS)
