Talasani flays Congress on Metro jibe

Animal Husbandry Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav today criticized the Congress for its allegations that the TRS Government delayed the Metro Rail Project and burdened the people with Rs 4000 crore. Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao gets the credit for launching the 30km long Metro Rail stretch first of its kind in the country as the departments’ coordinated efforts, he said.

Addressing the media at Secretariat today, Talasani accused the previous Congress regime of failing to complete a little part of the HMR works. The Congress should stop vague talk and prove its allegations, including Rs 4000 crore was a burden on the people, he said. Usually those in power will take initiative for launching prestigious projects and the TRS has bagged the opportunity and got to logical end, he said.

Since the first corridor of HMR was completed the rest of the two will be completed at the earliest as the related works are going on in a swift move he claimed. Though the congress rulers began the HMR project in 2012 they literally failed to complete even 15 per cent of the works. He slammed the TPCC Chief N Utham Kumar Reddy,  l for leader of opposition in Council, Shabbir Ali former Union Minister S Jaipal Reddy and others for claiming the credit for the project. He denied the congress comments that the Metro rail works are deliberately delayed by the TRS Government. Actually IT and Municipal Minister KT Rama Rao took the initiative to speed up the HMR project. Its first corridor is getting inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Miyapur Station at 2.15 pm in the presence of Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao and other dignitaries he claimed. All hurdles were cleared as soon as the TRS came to power and credit will go to the Chief Minister the minister said.

He further stated that KCR has encouraged the departments to coordinate for speeding up the works which was not done by the previous government. Due to lack of commitment and plan the Congress failed to complete the Metro Rail works.  He denied comments as baseless that the metro charges from Rs 10 to Rs 60 will be a burden to the denizens of the city. The metro fares disclosed by the officials will not be a problem as the fares are less than the fares of cabs and autos Srinivas Yadav said. The Congress, which lacks a single MP or MLA from Hyderabad, was trying to mud-slinging on the government, he said. (NSS)
