Teenager, brother held for rape

Thane: A teenager and his brother were booked for allegedly raping a 19-year-old girl and later ‘pressurising’ her to abort the foetus, police said today.

“The teenager aged around 16 under the pretext of marrying the girl maintained physical relations with her and after she became pregnant the brothers along with her mother took the victim to a hospital for abortion,” police said after a complaint was filed at Wagle Estate Police Station last night.

At the hospital the teenager posed as husband of the girl and approached the doctors, who refused to carry out abortion as the victim was six-months pregnant.

Later both the brothers pressurised the victim’s family to go to their village and abort the child. They assured that they would bear all the expenses thereof, said police.

When the victim refused to oblige the teenager threatened her and when nothing worked out refused to marry her, said the complaint.

The duo have been booked under various sections of the IPC.
