Telangana people should be grateful to Sardar Patel, “If not for him, .. “: PM Modi

Mahbubnagar: Upcoming Assembly elections in the Telangana State is witnessing national, local political parties gearing up with all sorts of preparations in order to prepare to win the battle.

PM Modi does not want to leave any stone unturned either. Modiji asked people of Telangana State to be grateful to Sardar Patel.

Addressing a public rally in Mahbubnagar, Modi said: “If not for him, we would have needed a Pakistan visa to visit Hyderabad,” he said, referring the first union home minister’s action that was taken against the then Nizam to merge Hyderabad with the Indian union.

“All of you must visit the Sardar Patel statue in Gujarat. It is the world’s tallest statue,” he said.

He focused on farmer’s issues despite other BJP state ruled farmers launched protests against the ruling government.

He asked why Mahbubnagar district still remains a dry region and the people are forced to migrate to other cities in search of livelihood.

“Despite rivers that can be tapped, why are the throats of the people parched?” he asked.

The art of talking is one good quality all political leaders possess and that is how they turn odd brutal facts into promising ones.

Referring to Telangana movement and TRS supremo KCR, for which many youths have lost their lives, he asked: “Several youth had been shot dead by the Congress regime during the first Telangana agitation. Did the martyrs lay down their lives for the happiness of one family?.”
