Telangana Police Number One in the Nation: DGP
M Mahender Reddy on Sunday took charge as the Director-General of Police (In-charge) of Telangana State on Sunday. Reddy who took charge from Anurag Sharma, thanked the Chief Minister, K Chandrashekhar Rao for giving him the responsibility as head of the State police. Efforts will continue at making Telangana a crime free State and focus will be on implementation of friendly policing, he said. There were many challenges post bifurcation and the police tackled them effectively. “Also, issues like child sexual abuse, crime against women and others were given due importance and dealt with utmost attention,” Reddy said. Mahender Reddy is the second DGP of Telangana State. A graduate in civil engineering from National Institute of Technology, Warangal, he got selected for IPS in 1986. Stating that law and order was a foundation for the development of the state, Telangana State DGP M Mahender Reddy has said that Telangana police system has stood in first place in the nation.
Mahender Reddy visited Siddipet Police Commissionerate here on Sunday. Speaking on the occasion, Mahender Reddy has informed that they will strengthen police system further while making people, civil society and all government departments as part of it. He said that friendly police system yielding good results in the state. He praised the police working under Siddipet Commissionerate stating that their work attitude was good.
