Telangana TDP president Revanth Reddy to join Congress?

Hyderabad: Rumours are rife that Telugu Desam working president of Telangana A. Revanth Reddy, will join Congress. Revanth Reddy is in Delhi. He reportedly spoke with senior AICC leaders on Tuesday and expressed his interest in joining the Congress to take on the TRS in the state. However Revanth Reddy denied it terming the reports as “baseless”.

DC by quoting Congress sources reported that All India Congress Committee Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe cell chairman Koppula Raju had reportedly conveyed Mr. Revanth Reddy’s intention to join the Congress to AICC vice-president Rahul Gandhi. After getting a nod from him, Mr. Raju had organised meetings in Delhi with Mr. Revanth Reddy and senior AICC leaders.

TPCC Chief Uttam Kumar Reddy too is in Delhi though he said no decision has been taken regarding inclusion of TDP leader, he assured that all PCC leaders would be consulted before inviting Mr. Revanth and others from the TD into the Congress.

TD leader Uma Madhava Reddy is also likely to join Congress after getting an assurance that the party would allot her the Bhongir Assembly seat for the 2019 elections.

Mr. Revanth Reddy had earlier told that he had held consultations with Mr. N. Uttam Kumar Reddy about a possible tie-up with Congress for the 2019 elections.
