A ‘thing’ in India, Wives of these prominent Ministers earn more than their husbands

Bhopal: Wives earning more than their counterparts is a ‘thing’ in India but recently filed Affidavits before the Election Commission show wives of prominent ministers in MP earning hefty amounts of money in comparison to their husbands earnings.

This list includes CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan’s wife Sadhna Singh who annually earns Rs 37 lakh and nearly as twice as her husband’s that is Rs 19.7 lakh.

Chouhan’s post-tax income stood at Rs. 17.12 lakh while his wife’s income stood at Rs 20.5 lakh.

Surprisingly breaking Chouhan’s wife’s record is Minister Bhupendra Singh’s wife who annually earns 4.5 crores, while his annual income stands at only Rs 97 lakh.

Affidavits of minister Rajendra Shukla shows his wife’s annual income stood at Rs Rs 26.66 lakh while his annual income was only Rs 6.6 lakh.

Similarly, wife of minister Sanjay Pathak, who switched from Congress to BJP after the 2013 polls, earns Rs 1.4 crore compared to her husband Pathak’s annual income of Rs 85 lakh.

Likewise, Congress’s veteran Suresh Pachauri’s wife earns Rs 22.61 lakh annually while his earns stand at Rs 19.99 lakh per annum, TOI Reports.
