City Police Commissioner M Mahender Reddy has said they have deployed 24,000 police personnel in the city on the occasion of nine-day Ganesh festival to provide tight security to the people.
Speaking to the media here on Thursday, Mahender Reddy said his department was giving top priority to technology in the security arrangements by linking Geo-tagging. He made it clear that there was no permission to the DJs this year and suggested that the people not to believe in rumors in the social media. He also asked the people to celebrate Ganesh festival in peaceful environment. He said already the police gave proper suggestions and advice to Ganesh mantap organizers.
Mahender Reddy said they would move forward coordinating with all wings, including traffic. He said Ganesh idols immersion would be held on September 5. Arrangements were already made perfectly for the peaceful immersion. He said they were taking steps to complete the immersion of idols in one day. (NSS)
