Tom Hanks-starrer ‘Greyhound’ has a new release date

Washington: The release of the World War II drama ‘Greyhound’ starring Tom Hanks has been postponed to March 2019.

Sony Pictures has pushed the release date of the film from February 8 to March 22 next year, The Hollywood Reporter confirmed.

Helmed by Aaron Schneider, the film is based on C.S. Forester’s novel, The Good Shepherd.

The movie features Hanks as Capt. Ernest Krause, the commanding officer of a Navy destroyer that leads an international convoy of Allied ships across the North Atlantic with German U-boats in pursuit.
Hanks’ co-stars include Elisabeth Shue, Rob Morgan and Stephen Graham.

While ‘The Post’ actor and his Playtone partner, Gary Goetzman, are producing, the film will be funded by Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions, Bron Creative, Sycamore Pictures and Zhengfu Pictures.

FilmNation’s Aaron Ryder, Playtone’s Steven Shareshian and are among the executive producers.
