TRS Govt will implement 12% Muslim quota: Dy CM

Deputy Chief Minister Mohammed Mahmood Ali said that the TRS Government would provide 12% reservation in jobs and education for Muslims in Telangana on the lines of Tamil Nadu.

Addressing a public meeting at Abdullah Chowk in Khanapur, the Deputy CM said Chief Minister K.Chandrashekhar Rao has completed all the legal formalities to implement his major electoral promise. He said that the Telangana Assembly and Council has passed the Muslim Reservation Bill and the same has been sent to the Centre for approval. He said if the Centre rejects the Bill, then the State Government would move Supreme Court.

The Deputy CM also listed out other measures taken by the TRS Government for the welfare of Muslims in the State. He said Urdu was accorded Second Language status all across Telangna. He said 66 posts of Telugu Translators were recently approved. He said more than 200 minority residential schools were started where nearly 5 lakh poor students are getting free education.
