UAE: Man lures job seeker to hotel room, rapes her

Dubai: It seems that the UAE is also facing a rise in the number of crime against women. In one such incident, a man raped a 27-year-old woman after luring her to the hotel room. After committing the crime, he let her go and put Dh 50 in her purse.

According to the report published in Khaleej Times, the accused is identified as 23-year-old Egyptian whereas the victim is a Filipina woman who was looking for the job.

As per the details of the incident, when the victim was on her way to interview at a hairdressing salon in Karama, the accused approached her and offered a job.

He said that his aunt has a vacancy for secretary. As the victim was in need of the job, she gave her contact number to him.

At the venue of the scheduled interview, she came to know that the manager of the Salon is out of UAE and will be back in three days.

After leaving the salon, she received a call from the accused who was waiting for her down the building. He claimed that his aunt is willing to meet her at a restaurant. Upon his insistence, the victim got into his car.

On the way, he tried to grope her under the pretext of searching for a cigarette pack. After reaching the hotel room, he raped the victim twice.

As soon as she stepped out of his hotel room, she approached the reception and informed about the incident.

Police reached the hotel and arrested the accused person.

The matter reached the Dubai Court of First Instance. The next hearing is scheduled to be held on 12th March.
