UN warns to ‘black list’ 130 Israeli firms in Israel-occupied land

Jerusalem: The United Nations has warned of adding at least 130 Israeli companies”>Israeli companies to their ‘black list’ for operating in Israel-occupied Palestinian territories.

As per Anadolu Agency, U.N.’s high commissioner for human rights, Zeid bin Ra’ad al-Hussein issued a written warning to the companies that they would be included in next year’s edition of U.N. black list, if they do not halt operations.

U.N considers all Israeli settlement activity in the occupied territories as illegal.

According to Yedioth Ahronoth, the companies currently operate in Israeli settlements in the West Bank, East Jerusalem or the Syrian Golan Heights, an area labeled as “occupied territories” by the U.N.

The companies deal in various fields, including food and pharmaceutical production and advanced manufacturing.

An international boycott of products, manufactured on Israeli settlements, has been on the rise in 2014.

Some customs departments of European Union are also marking such products, for identification in the European market. (ANI)
