Union Minister Rupala lauds S.P.Mukherjee College for Women students for “Mock Parliament” show

New Delhi [India]: A two- day annual fest “POLITIA” was organised by political science department of Shyama Prasad Mukherjee college for Women, University of Delhi, on February 20 and 21.

The main feature of the fest was a “Mock Parliament” performed by students. They essayed the roles of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, Home Minister Rajnath Singh from the treasury bench and Leader of Opposition Mallikarjun Mr Kharge, Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi, AAP leader Bhagwant Mann and others.

The mock parliament debated on several issues aptly, including the budget and controversial subject of demonetization.

Chief guest and Union Minister Parshottam Rupala described the performance of students as being par excellence and beyond his expectations.

He said the students were keenly aware of key social, political and economic developments in the country due to exposure of media.

He expressed the hope that generation next, the voice of the nation, and keen observers of happenings in the country, will excel as the years go buy and they mature.

Dr. Chandrakanta K. Mathur, the head of the Department of Political Science at the college, the “Fest” of such high talent was organized for the first time in past 85 years in the history of the University of Delhi. (ANI)
