Bangaluru: Muslim community leaders and retired officers have unanimously resolved to vote for Congress in Karnataka to avoid any division of Muslim votes in the state.

According to a Deccan Chronicle report, the leaders even decided to warn Muslims of social boycott if they go against the community and support All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM), Janata Dal (Secular), or SDPI, which might field Muslim candidates in the elections.

Hundreds of Muslim community leaders from bangaluru, Shivamogga, Kolar, Tumakuru and Chitradurga registered their presence in the meeting. The community members felt that if the the votes get divided it will only benefit BJP in state.

It is resolved in the meeting that it will bring Muslim scholars from across the state for a meeting where they would be convinced to back the Congress party.

The Karanataka assembly election is expected in April and May 2018.
