Hyderabad: Well-known social worker and writer Padma Shree Mrs. Bilquees Idrees Lateef passed away on Friday afternoon at her residence in Banjara Hills. Mrs. Bilquees Lateef was the wife of Air Chief Marshal Mr. Idrees Hasan Lateef and the daughter of former ambassador and governor of Maharashtra Late Ali Yavar Jung.
Mrs. Idrees had authored of 5 books including the biography of her husband. She worked for the educational development in various slum areas especially for girls.
Mrs. Idrees was the member of various women organisations of Hyderabad. She was awarded Padma Shree by the government of India in 2009.
Her funeral prayer and burial will be performed on Saturday, October 28.
