While AP reeling under drought, Chandrababu touring country to form anti-NDA front: YSRCP

Hyderabad: The YSR Congress Party today said Andhra Pradesh State will be groaning under drought conditions as long as iron-legged TDP supremo and Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu remains in power.

Speaking to mediapersons today, YSRCP MLA Gadikota Srikanth Reddy said Chandrababu Naidu, who had admitted that several districts were affected by drought, forwarded a false report on the drought conditions to the Centre. Recalling Chandrababu Naidu’s admission over the natural disaster in the last seven years, Srikanth Reddy said, “Naidu means to say that rainfall has been scant while he was in power. What were you doing since seven years? Why didn’t you seek the Centre’s assistance?” he asked the Chief Minister

Srikanth Reddy said except Srikakulam and West Godavari districts, drought was widespread in all the remaining districts. While the situation was alarming in the State due to dry spell and agony of farmers, the apathetic Chandrababu Naidu organized election rallies in the neighbouring Telangana State , he added. Ignoring the plight of the farming community in the State, Chandrababu Naidu built a new house at a cost of Rs 100 crore in Hyderabad. He also pointed out the NABARD report stating that the Andhra Pradesh was a State with highest debts in the country. He wondered why Chandrababu Naidu was roaming around the country to form an anti-BJP front without addressing the State’s problems.

Srikanth Reddy also said Chandrababu Naidu changed his tall claim of building Hyderabad to building Cyberabad. Chandrababu, who was more interested in making real estate profits for his friends with the Hitec City building, bulldozed the fact that in 1992, former CM Nedurumalli Janardhan Reddy inaugurated the building, he said.
