Hyderabad: Yogita Rana, a 2003 IAS batch officer, has been appointed as Hyderabad Collector. She was Nizamabad Collector and District Magistrate. She has been transferred and posted in Hyderabad. A GO has been issued dated 16 August 2017 in this connection, on Wednesday. Chief Secretary SP Singh issued orders.
Following appointment of Dr. Yogita Rana, Mrs. P Prashanti IAS has been relieved from the additional charge as collector Hyderabad. Till a new collector is posted to Nizamabad district, joint collector A Ravinder Reddy will hold full additional charge (FAC) of the district.
Yogita Rana received the ‘Best Collector of the State’ award from KCR. According to sources TRS leaders, including some elected representatives were lobbying for her transfer as Yogita Rana dealt firmly with illegal sand transportation which did not go well with some ruling party leaders who were gunning for her transfer.
