Notorious house burglar held in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: The Chaithanyapuri police nabbed a notorious house burglar involved in about 19 cases of day and night burglaries. The  Metropolitan Magistrate Cyberabad at LB Nagar conducted a trial in five automobile thefts and convicted the offender Guniganti Mahesh sentenced to undergo 15 months of rigorous imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs 50 in each case on Thursday.

The accusedGuniganti Mahesh is hailing from the Suryapet district.  Since 2012, he has been committing house burglaries, automobile thefts in the limits of Saroornagar, Chaithanyapuri police stations of Rachakonda Commissionerate. Between 2012 and 2017, he committed as many as (19) offenses. Earlier, he was arrested several times by the police, remanded to judicial custody and also convicted by the Courts.

Even though, he could not mend his attitude, way of life and resorted in indulge in similar criminal activities soon after released from jail. Thus, during the year 2018, he committed as many as (15) House burglaries, automobile thefts in the limits of Chaithanyapuri of Rachakonda, Suryapet, Kattangur police stations of erstwhile Nalgonda district.  

Police, Chaithanyapuri arrested the accused in October 2018 remanded him to judicial custody after recovering stolen booty and in pursuant to remand order, he was lodged in the Central Prison at Cherlapally. 

Since the activities of the offender are prejudicial to maintenance of Public Order,   Commissioner of Police, Rachakonda Mahesh Bhagwat invoked a PD Act against him in November 2018 and detained him again in prison.
