Hyderabad: Afer hearing of wife’s death an NRI committed suicide on the railway tracks near Ghatkesar on Saturday. A day after his arrival in Hyderabad from the UK. The deceased N Gangaiah, 33, belonged to Vijayawada and worked in the UK.
Police said Gangaiah’s wife had committed suicide at their house in Vijayawada a few days ago. He reached the city on Friday evening after coming to know of her death. Later he went to Secunderabad railway station and took a train to Vijayawada.
However, on Sunday morning his body was found on the railway tracks between Ghatkesar and Bibinagar railway station. Locals informed the railway police who shifted the body to Gandhi Hospital mortuary. Police found a train ticket in Gangaiah’s pocket, based on which his family was informed.
Railway police said he boarded a train bound for Vijayawada at Secunderabad but it was not clear where he got down. A case was registered by the police.
