ORR to remain closed on 31st night

Hyderabad: Rachakonda Commissioner of Police, Mahesh Bhagwat said that Outer Ring Road (ORR) will be closed today from 11 P.M. to 5 A.M in view of safety to road users.

Commissioner further informs that the light motor vehicles and passenger vehicles, medium and heavy good vehicles will be however allowed.

Moreover, passengers travelling to the Shamshabad airport on light motor vehicles will be allowed on ORR subject to production of tickets.

Speaking about the flyovers in the jurisdiction of Rachakonda police, Commissioner, said, “The Kamineni flyover, LB Nagar flyover and Chintalkinta underpass will remain closed from 10 P.M. till 5 A.M. next day.

Rachakonda police advise the New Year party’s participants to avoid flyovers.

Police have also directed the event organizer to ensure private security personnel, volunteers for traffic management to regulate the participants into the venue, parking facility inside the premises of the venue only, vehicles parked at the no parking zones will be fined as per the traffic rules.

Commissioner said, “Police checkpoints will be installed at various places to observe rash driving, triple riding, and especially drunken driving. I found such people will be booked as per the law, further warns the revellers not make any new sense during the New Year celebrations, strict action will be taken against the people who try to disturb and cause problems.”  

Police advise the public to follow the safety, traffic rules and co-operate with the police personnel while checking.
