NEW DELHI: On the 50th day of protest against Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), National Register of Citizens (NRC) and National Population Register (NPR), Shaheen Bagh comes with yet another innovative, peaceful and touching gesture.
In the video, several women young and odd can been seen holding placards and chants, “Desh Ke Pyaron Par, Phool Barsao Saaron Par” (Shower flowers on all those lovely people) in response to aggression, provocation and intimidation.
The new sloganeering “Desh ke in Pyaro Par, Phool Barsao Saro Par” is in response to the provocation by BJP leaders that includes UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Union Minister Anurag Thakur openly goads mob to chant, “Desh Ke Gaddaro Ko… Goli Maaro Salo Ko.”
On the other side of the protest, pro-CAA protesters gathered at Sarita Vihar and chanted, “Desh Ke Gaddaro Ko… Goli Maaro Salo Ko” slogans.
Two cases of shooting in the area were reported in the last three days in Shaheen Bagh.
The new slogan comes after the two unidentified people fired outside the Jamia Millia Islamia, near Gate No 5 late in the night Sunday.
