Pulwama aftermath: Shah Faesal meets suspended Kashmiri students

Pulwama aftermath: Shah Faesal meets suspended Kashmiri students

Kashmir: With an aim to decide on the future course of action, former IAS officer Shah Faesal on Thursday convened a meeting with students, who have returned to Kashmir after facing a backlash following the Pulwama attack.

The meeting was attended by over 20 students in Srinagar. Civil servant-turned-politician Shah Faesal plans to hold more such meetings to hold a discussion and get feedback from students.

The Tribune India has quoted Faesal as saying, “The purpose of the interaction with students who have returned to Kashmir is to listen to the stories of harassment and get data regarding the incidents and courses they were pursuing outside. We want to understand whether it’s safe for them to go back.”

As many students have been suspended from colleges outside Kashmir, Faesal said “We will try to chart out a strategy to revoke suspensions/rustications. We will try to see whether students can be helped to enter other colleges laterally.”
