Secretariat mosque restored; Friday prayers offered

Hyderabad: Friday prayers were offered at state secretariat mosque which was attended by Muslim employees of the offices located at the secretariat. Home minister Mohammed Mahmood Ali had directed the top police officials to permit the pass holder employees of secretariat either their offices are located inside the premises or not.

Ex-minister and senior Congress leader Mohammed Ali Shabbir contacted chief secretary S K Joshi requesting restoration of access to the masjid in the Secretariat premises for regular prayers, saying that this is the only masjid for Muslim employees who working in the government offices located in and around the secretariat.

The entry to the mosque was restricted since September 30.
