Syeda Hameed recalls Azad’s principle of Hindu-Muslim unity

New Delhi: Urging people to adopt the principle of Hindu-Muslim unity of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, Dr Syeda Saiyidain Hameed, a former member of Planning Commission said it is the need of the hour.

She said under the present circumstances that principle can help establish an atmosphere of peace.

Maulana Azad was a freedom fighter and former education minister. His birth anniversary was celebrated yesterday i.e. on November 11 across India.

Speaking at one such function held here, Dr Hameed said in 1923, when Azad was elected President of the Congress at the age of 35, he had emphasised on Hindu-Muslim unity. UNI reported.
