Tests, vaccination ramped up in Telangana: Health director

Hyderabad: Telangana Health Director Dr Srinivas Rao today said that Corona testing and vaccination ahs been increased in the state.

He said that 15 districts will take up testing afresh for RTPCR tests. The officials are providing jabs at about 1100 centres to people, he said, adding that the government also took measures to increase testing by adding 1 lakh more tests a day.

He further said that out of 10,000 beds in the government hospitals, 80 percent are unfilled.

He stated that testing, tracing, and treatment will be priority now in the state as rapid teams will be allowed to check the virus spread. The director appealed to the people to follow the Covid-19 protocols and avoid virus spread by abstaining from attending meetings, social gatherings and group programs.

The official said that Gandhi Hospital will be used for the cases again by improving more number of beds.
