Twelve Telangana workers arrested in Saudi Arabia

Riyadh: Saudi Arabian Police arrested 12 workers of Telangana State who had gone to the Middle East country in search of jobs.

It is reported that these workers failed to show work permits.

One such laborer, R. Raju, a native of Debak (Medak) told that he had gone to Saudi Arabia five years back. However, he was given a work permit only for a year.

After working for one year in the municipality, his work permit was not reviewed despite making many requests. In this way, his stay in Saudi Arabia become illegal.

He also told that he was prohibited from doing any work since January this year.

He informed that there are many such workers from Nizamabad, Jagtiyal, Sircilla, Kamareddy, etc., whose work permits are not being renewed.

They have made an appeal to their employers either to renew their work permits or allow them to go to their native country but these appeals fell on deaf ears.

A social activist from Kuwait, Mr. S. Syed shared these difficulties on social media. He has also informed these problems to the Indian Embassy.
