VH exhorts party men not to lose heart by local polls results

Hyderabad: Senior Congress leader V. Hanumantha Rao on Thursday exhorted party workers and leaders not to lose their confidence following the debacle of the party in the just announced MPTC and ZPTC elections. He reminded them that the recent Lok Sabha elections had not only brought a bundle of joy for the party, but also instilled confidence among the leaders and workers of the party.

Speaking to mediapersons, Rao said loss of confidence by the party workers would only cause irreparable harm to the party. He alleged that the allocation of tickets to parachuted leaders had led to the defection of the party MLAs while referring to all the 12 MLAs who have joined the rival TRS party. Referring to the submission of the CLP merger letter to the Assembly Speaker by the defected MLAs of the party, Rao said he had been telling the party leadership that it had several coverts in the party.

He asked the rebel leaders as to what they would achieve by joining the TRS party. He said all the party workers would hang their heads in shame if the CLP merger was completed. Objecting to the statement of the party MP Komatireddy Venkat Reddy that they would work for the people by taking inspiration from former CM late YS Rajasekhar Reddy, he said all Congress leaders should draw inspiration from the party leaders Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi and go into the people of the state.
