New Delhi: Renowned messaging app – WhatsApp is caught in troubled waters over the hacking scandal of several Indian citizens by Israeli firm NSO, the messaging platform is working on to enhance security features to protect Android users.
WhatsApp is suing Israeli firm NSO Group for its spyware Pegasus that has breached several Indians whatsapp account, IBT reports.
Although, the new feature can do anything against the Pegasus, but it will definitely keep intruders at bay if they are making any attempts to access WhatsApp without the owner’s permission.
Months after iPhone users received Face ID and Touch ID support, the android users will have fingerprint unlock.
Well, better late than never, this fingerprint lock for the app on Android devices is now available with the new update.
Once the application is updated to the latest version on Play Store, users can head over to the app settings to confirm the feature is available.
“Unlock with fingerprint” setting will be visible to users who can choose to on or off.
Users turning on the feature must select if the fingerprint lock should be activated “immediately,” “after 1 minute,” or “after 30 minutes,” they can also choose to show or hide content in notifications.
This feature does not affect calls clarified WhatsApp. Users will be still be able to answer calls even if the app is locked with your fingerprint.
How to enable fingerprint security in WhatsApp?
Enabling fingerprint lock in WhatsApp is quite simple.
Go to Settings > Account > Privacy > Fingerprint Lock and choose your settings and confirm your fingerprint.
This new feature fingerprint lock within the app is one of the biggest security features for users who do not have to rely on third-party apps for the same function.
The third-party applications that can easily mislead people to gain access to their WhatsApp chats, accounts will now be protected.
The users are recommended to uninstall any previously downloaded third-party WhatsApp lock app and now use the integrated fingerprint lock security.
