In a shocking incident took place at Kukatpally on Tuesday in Hyderabad where a woman in an inebriated condition allegedly tried to kill her two-year-old daughter by pushing her in front of a moving RTC bus.
According to eye-witness accounts, the woman, who was walking on the road, saw the bus approaching and pushed her two-year-old daughter in front of the vehicle in an attempt to kill her.
However, the alert driver of the bus slammed the brakes in the nick of the moment and avoided running over the toddler. The baby, however, suffered minor injuries in the ordeal.
Some passers-by rushed to the spot and rescued the baby. They then handed over the woman, who has only been identified as a resident of Bhagyanagar Colony in Kukatpally, to the police.
The driver of the bus was appreciated for his presence of mind due to which the toddler escaped with minor injuries.
Kukatpally Inspector of Police, B Laxmi Narayan Reddy, said that the woman was drunk and hence lost control over the baby. The police have registered a case.
