Hyderabad: Ahead of the Hanuman Jayanti procession 2026 in Hyderabad, the mosques on the routes of the procession in the city have been draped. This was done to avert any untoward incident.
The mosques at Afzal Gunj, Charminar, and other areas in the city have been draped with massive cloth.
The practice has been adopted by law enforcement authorities to maintain a peaceful atmosphere in the city during the procession.
Meanwhile, Hyderabad police are taking all necessary measures to maintain a peaceful atmosphere in the city ahead of the procession, which is scheduled to be taken out on April 2.
On Tuesday, March 31, Hyderabad City Police Commissioner VC Sajjanar chaired a coordination meeting with officials and organisers to review extensive security and logistical arrangements.
At least 168 processions are expected to converge into the main yatra, the police said. Nearly 3,000 police personnel will be deployed along with additional armed forces to ensure security.
The police are extra vigilant at religious places in the city.
In view of flyovers and railway bridges along the route, special precautions have also been emphasised regarding idol heights during Hanuman Jayanti procession 2026 in Hyderabad, police said.
Authorities have urged organisers and participants to stay alert and report any suspicious activity immediately. To minimise public inconvenience, traffic diversions will be set in advance, and citizens are requested to cooperate with police instructions.
The public is cautioned against believing or spreading social media rumours, as strict action will be taken against those posting misleading content.
