Demonetised notes worth Rs 1.38 crore seized in Telangana

The accused allegedly planned to circulate the withdrawn currency.

Hyderabad: Eight people were arrested in Kazipet on Saturday, September 19, during vehicle checks and demonetised notes of Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 worth Rs 1.38 crore were seized from their possession.

According to local reports, the accused were nabbed at the Kazipet intersection in Hanamkonda district. They allegedly planned to circulate the withdrawn currency.

Rs 6,000 in current cash and 10 mobile phones were also seized. A case has been registered.
