Dharmendra’s emotional tweet for Mohammed Siraj resurfaces

The veteran actor’s words reflected the kindness he himself was known for, a star who celebrated others’ achievements just as passionately as his own

Mumbai: Dharmendra’s passing has left an unfillable void in Indian cinema. Fans, colleagues, and social media users are recalling countless memories from his illustrious journey from his blockbuster roles to his warmth, humility and values.

One such memory that has resurfaced is of Dharmendra’s heartfelt praise for Indian pacer Mohammed Siraj during India’s historic Test series triumph against Australia in 2021.

Back then, Dharmendra had lauded Siraj not just for his heroics with the ball, but for his emotional strength. For the unversed, Siraj had chosen to stay with the Indian team despite the tragic loss of his father during the tour, fulfilling his late father’s dream of watching his son play Test cricket.

After returning home with 13 wickets in the series and becoming a key figure in India’s 2–1 win, Siraj drove straight from Hyderabad airport to Khairtabad graveyard to pay his respects. The moment deeply moved Dharmendra, who penned an emotional note praising Siraj’s courage and love for his father, calling him a “Braveheart son of India.”

Dharmendra’s words for Mohammed Siraj

“Siraj , Brave heart son of India Love you …Naaz hai tujh par, dil par walid ki maut ka sdma liye tum watan ki Aan ke liye match khelte rahe ..aur ek unhoni jeet watan ke naam darj kar ke lote..Kal tujhe apne walid ki qabbr par dekh kar mun bhar aya . jannt naseeb ho unhein,” Dharam had tweeted.

The veteran actor’s words reflected the kindness he himself was known for, a star who celebrated others’ achievements just as passionately as his own.

As the nation mourns Dharmendra, memories like these remind us why he wasn’t just a film icon, but a man whose heart was as legendary as his career. With his passing, Indian cinema has lost its gentle giant, a star who lived simply, loved deeply, and inspired millions with his humility.
