Former PM Manmohan Singh passes away at 92

Singh was rushed to the emergency department of AIIMS hospital after his health deteriorated.

New Delhi: Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, who was admitted to AIIMS Delhi on Thursday evening, passed away aged 92 after his health deteriorated due to age-related medical conditions.

In the announcement, AIIMS expressing grief stated that Dr Manmohan Singh was brought to the hospital after losing consciousness earlier that evening.

“With profound grief, we inform the demise of Former Prime Minister of India, Dr. Manmohan Singh, aged 92. He was being treated for age-related medical conditions and had sudden loss of consciousness at home on 26th December 2024.”

The hospital further announced that resuscitative measures were started at home and he was brought to the hospital at 8:06 p.m. “Despite all efforts, he could not be revived and was declared dead at 9:51 pm.”
