Hyderabad: An eight-month-old infant died after falling accidentally into a water sump at Gandipet in Narsingi police jurisdiction on Wednesday, April 2.
The infant slipped into a water-filled sump while playing outside the house. The child was found inside the sump during a search. He was immediately taken to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival.
The family had migrated to Hyderabad from Maharashtra in search of jobs and had been residing in a rented house in the area.
According to reports, the sump was found open without a proper cover, leading to the accident.

The police stated that there are no suspicions about foul play, and a case of accidental death has been lodged.
