Hyderabad: Operation still underway to catch leopard

Hyderabad: Ever since the imposition of nation-wide lockdown, there are reports of wild animals coming out on the roads and are venturing into public spaces.

In the city, within 24 hours people witnessed civet cat and leopard in two different places.

Report of witnessing a large python also came to limelight on Friday.

On Thursday, photos and videos of a leopard resting casually on NH-7 at Mylardevpalli district of Telangana have surfaced. Later, the locals have informed the police officials and Zoo Park Rescue team has arrived at the place.

Drone cameras are being used to rescue the big cat. Officials found foot print of it and it is suspected that he had run towards Himayat Sagar road. It is also suspected that the leopard hid himself in the forest between Himayat Sagar and Rajendra Nagar Area.

The Zoo officials said, “We have secured the premises to capture the feline and search operation is under process, trap cages have also been placed in the site.” The hunting operation is still in process. Trap cages have been arranged, use of sniff dogs to capture the leopard.
