Hyderabad sees highest property tax collection in 2025-26

Hyderabad: The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has achieved its highest-ever property tax collection of Rs 2,501.25 crore in the financial year 2025-26.

As per GHMC Commissioner R V Karnan, the record collection was completed as the financial year deadline ended at 8 pm on March 31.

One-Time Scheme

Between December 2025 and March 2026, GHMC witnessed the highest collection after the introduction of the government’s One-Time Scheme.

For the financial year 2026-27, the commissioner encouraged taxpayers to make early payments.

Rebate on property tax in Hyderabad

Property owners will get a discount of 5 per cent if they clear their full tax for the new financial year during April. However, the benefit is applicable only to the current year’s tax and not to any pending dues.

Residents have been urged to pay their taxes early and take advantage of the rebate offered by the government.
