Mumbai: Virat Kohli’s fitness transformation has always been one of the biggest talking points among fans, but now celebrity chef Arun Chauhan has revealed how much the cricketer’s food habits have changed over the years.
According to the chef, Virat was once a complete foodie who loved dishes like chole bhature and rajma chawal. He said the cricketer earlier ate non veg too, but later shifted towards a strict vegetarian lifestyle, inspired by Anushka Sharma.
The change did not happen overnight for fans who have followed Virat’s journey. In an older interview, the cricketer had revealed that he would increase red meat when his trainer wanted him to put on muscle. He had also shared that his usual lunch once included grilled chicken, mashed potatoes, spinach and vegetables, while dinner often had seafood.
That lifestyle looks very different now. As per the chef, Virat now prefers tofu instead of paneer and includes salads, sprouts, pulses and vegetables in his meals. While many call him vegan, Virat had earlier clarified that he never claimed to be vegan and has always maintained that he is vegetarian.
Virat has often credited Anushka for changing the way he looks at food, fitness and life. For fans, it is another example of how the actor has quietly influenced one of India’s biggest sporting icons. But with chole bhature still being one of his most loved dishes, at least Virat can still have his favourite cheat meal if Anushka allows him.
