Muzammil Khan.
Hyderabad: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Monday, August 24, conducted a raid in Ramagundam, Peddapalli district, over suspected links to a terror group.
The raid was reportedly jointly conducted by NIA officials, cybercrime officials, and local police at the residence of Muzammil Khan, an engineering student and son of dental doctor Ayub Khan. Khan was questioned about whether he had any links with a terror group or any foreign cybercrime group.
In a video shared on social media, the engineer said, “A year ago, I was added to a Telegram group, and the handlers offered a course on Artificial Intelligence.”
However, he said he learned that they were involved in criminal activities and exited the group immediately.
The NIA team from Gujarat visited the engineer’s residence and checked his phone and laptop for information regarding the group. They handed the devices over to him and left.
When contacted, the Ramagundam Police said that they weren’t involved in the investigation.
