The New Zealand Muslim Association Inc. (NZMA) has announced with deep sorrow the sudden passing of Br. Anees Jalil, a dedicated and respected member of the Muslim community.
In an official statement, NZMA expressed its heartfelt condolences to Br. Anees Jalil’s family, acknowledging his long-standing service and contributions. Br. Anees, fondly known as Hajji Anees, held various leadership roles within NZMA, including serving on the NZMA executive and the Avondale Islamic Centre branch committee for many years.
He was also a committed volunteer with the Janaza Services team, providing essential community support. NZMA noted that his efforts and character earned him immense respect and admiration within the organization and the wider community.
Hajji Anees passed away in Nadi, Fiji on June 30. His Janaza (funeral) arrangements held in Fiji on Tuesday, July 1.
The association concluded its message with a prayer: “May Allah SWT grant Br. Anees the highest rank in Jannatul Firdaus and bestow patience, strength, and comfort upon your family during this difficult time.”
