The 12-day war between Israel and Iran has raised a very pertinent question: Why the United States did not directly intervene in the first ten days to save Israel from being ruined by Iran?
The American troops stationed all over the Gulf countries and in warships in the vicinity remained engaged in picnicking and did not fire a single shot on the nearby Iranian military and naval bases even when the latter’s missiles on the very third day of the war (June 15) destroyed Israel’s Weizmann Institute of Science, one of the world’s top centres of scientific research with which six Nobel Prize winners were associated.
President Donald Trump, as a symbolic gesture, ordered the bombing of three nuclear sites in Iran only on June 22. Nobody is sure whether the B-2 bunker busters really achieved the desired result. Israel alone was left to fight the war, albeit with the Western weapons.
Contrast this to 1990-91 situation when the entire West launched a full-fledged war against Iraq following Saddam Husein’s invasion of Kuwait. The latter was liberated after a month-long war involving troops of the United States, NATO allies, and some Arab countries. Though thousands of Iraqis died in the battle the Western allies too suffered casualties. But in the recent conflict none of them even got injured. Why was the West so bothered about Kuwait’s liberation when Saddam was also a true friend who was fully backed by Washington in the eight-year-long war against Iran (1980-88).
Americans then badly needed military bases in the Persian Gulf to counter the rise of Iran. So, they got an excuse to wage a war against their protégé Saddam. But when the time came to directly confront the regime in Tehran the West fled from the scene with tail between the legs. The Jews were left to bear the brunt. Many among them now feel that had the self-proclaimed Christian Zionist Joe Biden been in Trump’s place he would have immediately ordered his forces to attack Iran.
A realization has started dawning upon a section of sensible Jews across the planet that the power elite in the West—be it Christian Zionists, Evangelists, or liberal democrats–have left them in the lurch when Israel needed their direct help. In fact, several European countries remained more involved in backing Ukraine in its fight against Russia during these tumultuous days in the history of Jews.
Defence experts may go on forever debating as to who among Israel or Iran, suffered more material loss. But there is absolutely no denying the fact that Israel, a tiny Western military outpost, badly lost the battle of nerves. It also lost the aura of invincibility and recovering from this position may be an extremely challenging task for it. This is for the first time in over a century, especially since May 14, 1948—the day it was created–that the Zionist Jews are seriously feeling let down by none else but their Western masters, especially the United States.
The US and its allies fully know that Iran is not Saddam’s Iraq. Therefore, they avoided direct confrontation. Donald Trump’s admission in the NATO Summit that Israel got hit very hard by Iran, especially in the last couple of days tells the whole story. His praise for Iran caused embarrassment to Israeli PM, Benjamin Netanyahu.
Those who dismiss Trump as a non-serious person must have to concede that in the last 45 days he succeeded in stopping two wars, one in South Asia and another in West Asia.
None else but Senator Bernie Sanders, himself a Jew, (who contested against Hillary Clinton, in the Democratic Party primary for Presidential race in 2016), tried to caution his community and explain
their limitations. In his June 18 tweet he said: “Netanyahu is not the President of the United States. He should not be determining US foreign and military policy. If the people of Israel support his decision to start a war with Iran, that is their business and their war. The United States must not be a part of it.”
But Benjamin Netanyahu, who never expected such a devastating response from Iran, had been living in Fool’s Paradise. Within a few days of war, the badly battered Israeli PM had to repeatedly beg before President Trump to come to his rescue, but the latter took his own time and just as a mark of friendship, reluctantly ordered an attack on Iranian nuclear sites. Here it needs to be mentioned that Trump got an overwhelming support from Armageddon-dreaming Evangelists at the time of election.
Curiously, the US did not hit back at Iran following latter’s attack on its base in Qatar. This compelled many independent observers to conclude that there was a sort of mutual understanding between Washington and Tehran. Trump had got an idea about the capability of Iran. Thus, he wants to keep its leaders in good humour.
The fate of a nation is not just decided on a battlefield, but also beyond it. This is more so in the case of Israel-Iran war, the first ever in human history where the two rivals have no territorial ambition over each other.
Israel and its masters were left with no option but to exaggerate the claim over the destruction of nuclear sites in Iran. Trump may be honest in conceding about the crippling blows dealt by Iran to Israel.
An over-confident Netanyahu went to war expecting that the target would be achieved in a couple of days and the regime in Tehran would be overthrown. Iran may fire a handful of missiles which would be knocked down by the Iron Dome. He had never in the wildest imagination thought that Tel Aviv, the biggest city, and Haifa, the biggest port and a refinery-town, would virtually be Gaza-fied not by any nuclear bomb, but drones and hyper-sonic ballistic missiles. Poor Netanyahu could not save the most prize asset of the country, Weizmann Institute of Science. The Western propaganda machinery is busy underplaying this pain of Israel. To distract the attention, they are blowing out of proportion the nuclear issue of Iran when the fact is that the latter had repeatedly denied that it was making any atom bomb.
Imposing complete censorship was the single biggest achievement of the Zionist state. They tried to befool the televised world that only 28 people had died in 12 days of blood-letting.
But the statistics given by them say something different. More than 33,000 buildings and over 8,000 private vehicles were destroyed, not to speak of widespread destruction of intelligence, scientific, and military infrastructure.
When everything is goody-goody and enemies are weak one can easily boast of being the rulers of the world. But when things go wrong, the first one to desert would be the best friends and masters. Sensible among the Jews, may be small in number, realize the fact that they were armed, promoted and encouraged by certain Western power elite, with a certain objective.
An artificial state, Israel, was created with this very purpose—and not out of love for the Jews. And an artificial entity has its life span. In contrast, Iran is 80 times larger than Israel with ten times more population. It has existed for last many centuries, and would not evaporate in the thin air. It has the quality to bounce back.
The dejected, crestfallen, and cheated Jews of Israel have already been dispersing to different corners of the planet. The war has brought them down to the reality and there are several lessons for them. The most important one: they are not the rulers of the world, but are being used by the largely Christianized Western imperialist powers (certainly not all the Christians). No doubt, a sizeable
number of Jews really deserve sympathy as they stood against Zionism and even spoke for the cause of Palestine.
The bottom line of the story is: the innocent souls are the worst victims, be it in Gaza, Iran, or Israel.
