Parents enraged as students made to cook in Telangana hostel

Hyderabad: A video of students rolling out puris at a hostel in Nalgonda district has gone viral, leaving parents and student unions enraged.

The video is reportedly from the Damaracherla Welfare Hostel in Nalgonda district. In the video, students can be seen making puris. “Who has asked you to do this, the warden?” a teacher asks.

She then questions an old woman, who appears to be in charge of the kitchen, about why the students were preparing puris. “Why are the students here? They don’t have classes now, so they could rest, but why are they doing this?”

In another video, boys can be seen making rotis in unhygienic conditions. Parents expressed anguish over the video and asked what the hostel staff were being paid for.

When contacted, there was no response from the Nalgonda district education officer or the district medical health officer regarding the incident.
