Telangana cop dies as service weapon goes off while cleaning

Hyderabad: A police official died in Nizamabad district of Telangana on Friday, September 18, after his service weapon allegedly misfired while he was cleaning it, police said.

The incident occurred in Nizamabad police headquarters when Reserve Inspector H Satish was cleaning the weapon, a police release said.

Nizamabad Commissioner of Police P Sai Chaitanya rushed to the spot and inspected the scene of the incident, the release added.
