Telangana Health Minister inspects Medak Critical Care unit

Following the inspection, the minister held a high-level review meeting with key health officials and local leaders, directing department heads to attend a secretarial meeting in Hyderabad to finalise human resources, equipment, and infrastructure.

Hyderabad: Telangana Health Minister Damodar Raja Narasimha conducted a surprise inspection of the newly constructed Critical Care Block at the Medak district headquarters on Monday, August 24, to review operational readiness ahead of its upcoming inauguration.

Following the inspection, the minister held a high-level review meeting with key health officials and local leaders, directing department heads to attend a secretarial meeting in Hyderabad to finalise human resources, equipment, and infrastructure.

The review also outlined plans to strengthen overall district medical services, construct a new Government General Hospital (GGH) building and student hostel, set up a trauma care centre in Tupran, and expand regional dialysis services.

To ensure the Critical Care Block is fully operational for its imminent inauguration, Minister Narasimha instructed key health officials to attend a high-level coordination meeting at the Hyderabad Secretariat on August 25.

Addressing specialised care needs, the review examined ongoing dialysis services provided to kidney patients across Narsapur, Ramayampet, Kaudipally, and Tupran. Concluding the session, Minister Narasimha directed officials to submit comprehensive formal proposals to upgrade and expand medical services throughout the entire Medak district.

The session will focus on expediting the deployment of necessary human resources, specialised equipment, core infrastructure, and Integrated Health Facility Management Services (IHFMS) required to run the facility at full capacity.

Beyond the launch, the minister directed officials on a broader roadmap to strengthen overall healthcare infrastructure in Medak.
