Two held with hash oil worth Rs 1.75 crore in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: Two persons were arrested here for allegedly transporting 14.2 kg of hashish oil worth Rs 1.75 crore, police said on Saturday, August 22.

Acting on credible information that two persons were transporting hashish oil on a motorcycle towards Gowrelly Road in Nagole on Friday, police teams conducted vehicle checks and intercepted them.

The two were carrying bags containing hashish oil, Malkajgiri Police Commissioner B Sumathi said in a release.

The accused were identified as T Nagaraju and N Narayana, both residents of Alluri Sitarama Raju district in Andhra Pradesh, she said.

During interrogation, police learnt that T Gopal, who is absconding, had approached the two accused and handed over bags containing hashish oil for transportation from the Odisha border to Hyderabad.

Gopal, a resident of Singavaram village in Malkangiri district of Odisha, had allegedly offered them Rs 1 lakh each for transporting and delivering the narcotic substance, the commissioner said.

A case was registered at Nagole Police Station, and further investigation was underway to trace the absconding accused and ascertain the intended recipients and distribution network of the hashish oil in Hyderabad, Sumathi added.
