The Sitapur District Magistrate also imposed a fine of Rs 10.46 lakh.

Uttar Pradesh: A madrasa in Uttar Pradesh‘s Sitapur district was demolished on June 10 after authorities deemed it was built on government land.

On a complaint filed by Vikas Chaturvedi, the president of Rashtriya Hindu Sher Sena, a Hindutva organisation, the District Magistrate had ordered the eviction of Jamia Abdullah Bin Masood Madrasa and imposed a fine of Rs 10.46 lakh.

But before the officials could take a step, the madrassa authorities themselves began demolishing the structure.
