Wine shops, bars to remain closed in Cyberabad for Hanuman Jayanti

The decision has been taken under the provisions of the Telangana State Excise Act, 1968.

Hyderabad: In view of Hanuman Jayanti, the Cyberabad police have ordered the closure of wine shops, toddy shops, and bars attached to restaurants from 10 am to 10 pm on Thursday, April 2.

Meanwhile, Hyderabad police are taking all necessary measures to maintain a peaceful atmosphere in the city ahead of the procession, which is scheduled to be taken out on April 2.

On Tuesday, March 31, Hyderabad City Police Commissioner V C Sajjanar chaired a coordination meeting with officials and organisers to review extensive security and logistical arrangements.

At least 168 processions are expected to converge into the main yatra, the police said. Nearly 3,000 police personnel will be deployed along with additional armed forces to ensure security.

The police are extra vigilant at religious places in the city.
