Hyderabad: Nearly two weeks after its formation, the Hyderabad Adulteration Food Safety Team (H-FAST) and GHMC officials, on Wednesday, April 1, seized 14 tonne of decomposed meat from a storage facility unit in Hyderabad.

The inspection was held in ‘A to Z Sheep & Goat Offals’ located in Chisti Chaman Dargah in Mangalhat. Officials found large stocks of rotten meat stored in unhygienic conditions. Its 41-year-old owner, Mohammad Afroz, has been arrested.

Afroz sourced the meat from Delhi, Jammu & Kashmir, and Maharashtra and supplied it to hotels and restaurants across the city, officials said.
